This is the job

As a Senior Design System Architect (f/m/x) within our Avenga Experience unit, you shape the structural foundation of scalable and consistent digital experiences. You take ownership of evolving and expanding design system architectures across products and platforms.

Acting as the strategic link between design and engineering, you define governance frameworks, establish contribution models, and drive adoption across teams. Your work ensures implementation quality, accessibility, and long-term product consistency.

Ideally, you’re based in Berlin or Cologne. If you are elsewhere in Germany, remote work is definitely possible.

This is you

• 5+ years of experience in design systems and UX/UI

• Strong expertise in component architecture and scalable system design

• Solid knowledge of governance models and documentation standards

• Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design

• Professional proficiency in Figma

• Experience working closely with engineering teams to translate design into scalable solutions

• Strong communication skills, enabling alignment across cross-functional teams and client environments

• Strong German language skills (minimum B2) to communicate clearly and operate confidently in German-speaking client environments

• English language skills at upper-intermediate level (B2) to thrive in an international environment

• Define and maintain design tokens and reusable components

• Create, Expand and evolve design system architectures

• Define governance frameworks and contribution workflows

• Drive cross-team adoption and alignment

• Ensure accessibility, scalability, and implementation quality

• Create documentation and specifications for development handoff

• Review and optimize existing components and structures

• Facilitate effective collaboration between design and engineering
